Halloween Fun at Home

Happy Halloween PALs! Though this year may look a little different for Halloween, that doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun! Whether you are trick or treating or not, use these four ideas to make a fun family night at home!

  1. Get dressed up!

You are never too young or too old to dress up for Halloween. There are many stores in the area selling costumes, but why not make your own DIY costume at home! Here are two ideas to get you started:

Boo (Monsters Inc.):

All you will need is a pink shirt, some purple leggings (or any color you have), a stuffed animal, and two bows or ribbons.

Charlie Brown:

All you will need is a yellow shirt, black paint or duct tape, pants or shorts, and you can make your own “Great Pumpkin” sign!

Ghost:

All you will need is a sheet! Pin-point where your head will go, then find the perfect spot to cut out two holes for eyes and one for the mouth.

  1. Make some yummy treats!

Now that you are all dressed up, you are ready for dinner! Make these “mummy dogs” with three easy ingredients: crescent dough, hot dogs, and googly eyes are optional, but ketchup and mustard can be used as substitutes.

If using canned crescent dough, roll out the dough and cut it into thin strips (about ¼ an inch). Take 2-3 strips and wrap them around a hot dog, leaving a little gap to put the eyes later. Place it on a baking sheet and continue with the rest of the hot dogs and dough. Place in a preheated 350* oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Add the googly eyes or use ketchup or mustard as eyes. Allow time to cool and enjoy plain or dipped in your favorite condiment.

  1. Make a spooky craft!

Using popsicle sticks and markers or paint, create these cute decorations to display around the house!

All you need is some glue, popsicle sticks, markers or paint, and googly eyes! You can make either a monster, pumpkin, Frankinstien, a ghost, or any other Halloween related person or object!

  1. Watch a Halloween movie!

  • Goosebumps
  • Goosebumps 2
  • The Boy Who Cried Werewolf
  • The Adams Family
  • The Witches

And, if you have a Disney+ account, here are some more great Halloween movies for your family to watch:

  • Zombies
  • Hocus Pocus
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • The Haunted Mansion
  • Halloween High
  • The Scream Team

Wishing y’all a happy, fun, & safe Halloween!
