Happy Thanksgiving

It has been tradition the last couple of years that I, the Executive Director of PAL, get to share why I am so thankful. And this year is no different. I have so much to be grateful for, from small things to big things and it my pleasure to share them with you, because as Henry Van Dyke says, …”thankfulness is the natural impulse to express [gratitude].”

Jenny’s Top Gratitude List (in no particular order):

  1. A warm house with a roof over my head and food to eat.
  2. My family, in particular my sister and mother who inspire me daily.
  3. The PAL Staff. All three of our staff (Amy, Jesse, & Madi) are AMAZING! I have no idea how I got to be so blessed to have these three incredible people be apart of this organization, but they are and I am proud/fortunate to have them on the team!
  4. Laughter. Most days I get to laugh and that just makes my day.
  5. Chosen family members are the best and mine allow me to keep on keeping on. In particular let me give a shout out to my Bevy Ladies, who have been my rock on several occasions.
  6. Behind every successful nonprofit there is an incredible board and PAL’s board is one of the best! They actively participate, have a heart for the mission, and support the staff in all we do. So a huge thank you and expression of gratitude to the PAL Board.
  7. Rock Climbing. In January I started rock climbing again and now I climb sometimes 3 times a week and it is amazing!
  8. Sunrises & sunsets. I love when I get to see these. Just recently I was able to capture one in my hometown of Anacortes, WA and it reminded me of much I love witnessing such colors flood the sky.
  9. I would be remiss if I did not mention my cats, Ruby & Ferdinand. They are amazing and I appreciate their cuddles and humor.
  10. My community. I grew up in a small town and when I moved to Vancouver I wasn’t sure if I could make it my home, but it has become evident that it is absolutely the town I want to call home. Our community impresses me daily and the friendships I have formed by being active in this community are some of the best!
