Spring has arrived

As I sit here typing this, I find it hard to believe that we are already a couple weeks into spring. I mean where did time go? It is as if I blinked for a moment and then found myself in a whole different season.

I’m not sure if everyone else feels the same way, but time seems to have begun to move faster and all I want is for it to slow down. To be able to be fully present in all moments and to feel like I have the time to pause and breath. It is with this mindset that I hope as you read this , you take the opportunity to stop and reflect; to take a moment for yourself. If you need a little help here is a poem for you to enjoy:

After the Winter

BY CLAUDE MCKAY

Some day, when trees have shed their leaves
     And against the morning’s white
The shivering birds beneath the eaves
     Have sheltered for the night,
We’ll turn our faces southward, love,
     Toward the summer isle
Where bamboos spire the shafted grove
     And wide-mouthed orchids smile.

And we will seek the quiet hill
     Where towers the cotton tree,
And leaps the laughing crystal rill,
     And works the droning bee.
And we will build a cottage there
     Beside an open glade,
With black-ribbed blue-bells blowing near,
     And ferns that never fade.

Now take a deep breath. And another. And finally, one last one. Spring is here and time will keep on keeping on, but don’t forget to savor those moments when you can just be.
