Andrew Carnegie once said“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.”
And these words have never rung so true for me recently. So often when PAL talks about who makes our organization possible, we focus on our law enforcement partners and volunteers; which is very true. However, today we want to give a shout out to a very special group of volunteers: our Board of Directors.
I can honestly say I have been floored by the responsiveness and dedication of PAL’s Board of Directors. As we begun to pivot during this time of pandemic, I reached out to the board for support. I asked them questions and requested their assistance as we transitioned. Then we quickly did some board votes via email to allow for us to apply for grants/loans like the SBA Payroll Protection Program. We sometimes had as short as a 45 minute turn around to make things happen and that’s with a 16-person board. I mean WOW!
So thank you PAL Board! Thank you for believing in our mission and actively working towards supporting our organization. Not all nonprofits can boast of an incredible board, but PAL sure can! I am forever grateful.
