The Importance of Partnerships

PAL is all about partnering and collaborating with others. We love working with other nonprofits, businesses, community members, and our schools. In fact we believe that by engaging in these relationships that our impact is strengthened and more wide spread. So, in today’s blog post we want to highlight just a couple of those partnerships & collaborations, because together we are stronger.

Rocksolid Community Teen Center: We’ve been partnering with Rocksolid for several years now and the collaboration has been so good. We brainstorm together, serve our community and build each other up. We love bringing our programs to their teens when we can and then volunteer with their events as often as possible.

McCord’s Vancouver Toyota: We are so grateful for the support we have from Phillip Cianni and his team! Yes, they have provided a PAL SUV for us to use to execute our mission, but their support goes so much deeper than that. They show up to events, volunteer time, and have even been known to run a race or two to help raise money. We give many thanks to our partnership with McCord’s, y’all rock!

Local School Districts: At the moment we actively partner with Vancouver, Evergreen, Ridgefield, Camas, Washougal, and Battle Ground school districts. These collaborations are vital as they allow us to host our programs in their schools. What’s even more amazing is that as we have deepened our relationships with the districts their foundations also start to support us. Both Vancouver and Evergreen district foundations have given us grants to continue the work we are doing in their schools.

Clark County Historical Museum: One might think that the museum is an unlikely partner, but over the last year we have found many ways to work together. It started by us sharing each other’s social media posts so we could both get a broader reach to then starting to plan a joint fundraising opportunity and then recently culminating with their support of a history intern so that PAL could work on preserving it’s impact. We have so loved this partnership and look forward to how it will grow.

Blaze Restoration: Blaze Restoration is local business who has been supporting us the last couple of years. They love basketball and so they have taken our basketball programs under their wings. Their partnership though goes beyond dollars. They also help officiate the games and have been known to show up at a practice to help run drills.

Good Sport Equipment Connection (GSEC): GSEC has been such a fun collaboration. The collaboration includes PAL, Evergreen Schools, iQ Credit Union, Parks Foundation, Clark College, Clark County Realters, and Nautilus, Inc. Together we accept donations of gently used or new sports equipment that is then distributed to youth in our community who would maybe struggle otherwise to get the equipment in order to play.

Law Enforcement Agencies: We would be remiss if we did not end by giving a shout out to all of our local law enforcement agency partners. It is because of them we can even exist and we value those relationships so much! Agencies that are actively partnering with us at the moment include: Vancouver Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Battle Ground Police Department, Washington State Patrol, Washougal Police Department, Ridgefield Police Department, Camas Police Department, and WA State Department of Corrections. Thank you to all the men and women in these agencies who volunteer their time, give of their resources, and donate money to make PAL programs possible.
