Throwback Thursday: Holiday Book Fair

Throwback Thursday: Holiday Book Fair

During the holiday season PAL usually collaborates with Juvenile Court to host a Book Fair. While typically we have an in person event with craft tables, a wrapping station, food, cookies and books; this year looked a little different: we hosted our event as a drive thru Book Fair and wow was it successful!

We were able to serve 59 families through juvenile court, totaling 182 kids as well as youth from Oak Bridge and Boys & Girls Club! Every kiddo received books, a craft, a gift card and a hot meal! It felt impossible to pull off this kind of event but we did it and it was so amazing to be a part of.

Being able to serve families in Clark County in this kind of capacity is so rewarding and heartwarming. Our volunteers and planning committee did a fantastic job putting this event together. Our sponsors, Latino Community Resource Group, Read Vancouver, Molina healthcare, Outback Steakhouse, Jimmy Johns and so many others, we thank you, Without your generosity and support, we would not have been able to have this event turn out the way it did.

We are excited to keep this event going and thriving, we hope next year we get the chance to have this event in person again!

Again, thank you to everyone who was involved!
