Volunteer Spotlight

This month is Domestic Violence awareness month. The Vancouver Police Department Domestic Violence unit has been coming to PAL’s lunch mentoring groups at our high schools. Detective Wollstein and Commander Foster took the initiative to present about domestic violence to our teens. Not an easy topic to discuss with teenagers, but Detective Wollstein did it amazingly; she took in the hard questions and responded with ease.

The teens at our groups connected with Detective Wollstein so quickly! They really trusted her and opened up to her and the other mentors that were in our groups.

Having her out and talking about domestic violence awareness got the teens thinking, this is something they seriously want to know more about. I am excited to have Detective Wollstein come back out and connect with these teens again.

Thank you VPD Domestic Violence Unit!
